(Allan slowly rises the steps to the podium as the chanting grows ever louder and quickens pace. "Allan! Allan! Allan!" The very walls seem to begin to weaken under the deafening roar. Allan steps to the microphone...) Thank you. Thank you, all! I but stand on the shoulders of others! First I'd like to thank my mother and father for having me. I'd particularly like to thank my mother for allowing me as a young teen to store in my bedroom large boxes of those little computer card punchout thingies. Next I'd like to thank Lisa Meyers who happened to have two aspirin tablets handy when I tripped and dropped my program punch cards having just gotten my Runga-Kutta integration routine working. My only regret is that she didn't have any water. But hey, life is full of obstacles to overcome. Finally I'd like to thank Atari for saving my computer career by coming out with a computer that was much better than my Vic with its 4K RAM and casette tape drive. (Allan raises his arms, each hand having two fingers extended in the "V" for victory salute. He then dives into the crowed where he's quickly carried off into the distance. Unfortunately his manager is watching, arms crossed and frown apparent, knowing he got no work done this day to help advance the development schedule.)
