TITLE: ISO C++ ratified (Newsgroups: comp.lang.c++, 20 Jul 98) STRUSTRUP: bs@research.att.com (Bjarne Stroustrup) The ISO C++ standard has been ratified. 20 nationes voted - all votes were positive. We now have "IS0/IEC 14882 Standard for the C++ Programming Language." This standard was developed under rules that ensures that it is also a national standard in the partcipating countries. That is, it is an ANSI, BIS, DIN, etc. standard. Most implementations currently shipping are pretty close to conforming. Now is a good time to consider what the standard offers and you might benefit from it. I personally think that the committee did a good job and offer my thanks to the many who contributed. - Bjarne Bjarne Stroustrup (http://www.research.att.com/~bs)
